How large is Coco’s?

Coco’s is situated on a 400 acre family run farm and has capacity to allow access to 140 acres if needed (105 football fields)

BOOKING

Do I need to book? - No booking required unless needing accommodation.

Can I just turn up? - Yes, please do and ring 07956204900 when you arrive.

Do I need to check availability before I come? - No - we never run out of space and we don’t allocate specific pitches. You arrive and choose where you would like to go.

Can I come for just one night? - Yes

How long can I stay? - As long as you like.

Are there designated pitches? No...pitch where you want with consideration for other campers - give others space.

If it’s wet can I still come? Yes - we have areas that are suitable - just ask where is best before pitching up if it’s wet

Can I camp in a tent? Yes

Can I camp in my car? Yes

Can I camp in a car roof tent? Yes

Can I camp in a camper? Yes

Can I camp in a motorhome? Is there a size limit? Yes ...if you have concerns about the size of your vehicle and access please contact us via our Facebook group with a DM and send a picture of your vehicle with measurements so we can advise you.

Can we put up an awning? Do you charge extra? You can put up what you like at no extra charge

WILD CAMPING COSTS

How much does it cost? £10 per night per adult / £2.50 per child per night / £20 per night per horse (yes, people bring their horses too!) / Dogs are free but must remain on leads at all times - no exceptions.

If I want to come for a day visit to enjoy the views without camping the night how much is it?

CARAVANS TO RENT

Can I rent a caravan? What are the prices for adults, children and pets?

Yes - we have 2, 4 and 5 berth caravans which are £30 a night to hire plus usual camping fees - £10 per night per adult
£2.50 per child per night.

Arriving after 2pm. Check out by 11am.

GAS: The caravans no longer have gas for cooking.

ELECTRIC: There are lights but no phone charging points or power sockets so bring your own charging packs if that’s important to you or charge it in your car.

FRIDGE: We unfortunately can’t guarantee a working fridge as they can be temperamental, so ice packs and a decent cool box can be a good idea if that’s important to you.

WATER: There is no running water in them but we do provide non drinking water on site and bottles of drinking water available to buy from our shop.

ESSENTIALS: Essentials such as pots and pans are supplied. Please bring your own bedding, towels etc.

LOVE SHACK TO RENT

Can I rent the Love Shack? What are the costs for adults, children and pets?

We offer Cocos Love Shack for people exclusively in the Coco's wild camp group...maybe you have older members of your family that would enjoy the comfort while you camp in the field in front and it can sleep 6 if using the sofa and 2 double bedrooms.

The LOVE SHACK has gas cooker, hot water, a wood burner (we can supply wood) washing machine, tumble dryer, electric sockets, fridge freezer and dishwasher.

Please bring all your own bedding (pillows / duvets etc) and towels.

PRICES: £200 min stay for 2 nights £50 a night after that.
We request a deposit of £50 for it to be left clean and tidy

Pets are welcome - but please keep them out of the bedrooms and dogs must always be kept on leads - no exceptions.

FACILITIES

Is there water? - Fresh water in the large silver water tanks. We state this is not drinking water. Bottled water is available at the shop.

Can you buy food on site?

Coco’s Diner is our family run onsite food van offering. Open at the weekends serving breakfasts and hot food in the evenings and also during the holidays it will be onsite all year round! Some of our campers enjoy a night off from cooking, they don’t have to bring ALL their food, they can pack up their camp on departure day and still have breakfast without the washing up and they can enjoy the sunset whilst we cook their dinner!

What else can I buy on site? We have basic supplies at the shop and camping supplies too such as windbreakers, wood to be used with our Coco’s Fire Pits...

You can also buy lots of great Coco's Merchandise like Coco’s van and car stickers, travel mugs, coco’s clothing items.

We also sell kites which people LOVE.

Does Coco’s have Toilet facilities? There are composting toilets on each level

Can I empty my chemical toilet? Yes on Level 2 next to the toilet is a green collection tank.

Does Coco’s have shower facilities? No but we do sell shower bags in the shop

Is there Electric Hook Up? No.

Can I use a Generator? No.

What is the phone signal like at Coco’s? Most networks work really well. Some visitors have apparently successfully joined Teams and Zoom meetings using their hotspots - but we have no idea what those are and would suggest you avoid doing any of that work stuff whilst you are with us : )

Can I use BBQ’s? Yes, but they must be raised off the ground

Do you allow use of Fire Pits? Yes - but they must be raised off the ground.

We supply Coco’s Fire Pits (which you will see dotted around the site) for the use of guests who buy wood from us which is £7 a bag. If you want to burn your own firewood please bring your own fire pit which must be raised off the ground.

Is Coco’s suitable for motorbikes and bike meets? Yes - with respectful, slow riding across the camping and farm land.

Is Coco’s suitable for dogs? Yes - but all dogs must be on a lead at all times. NO exceptions! And you MUST clean up after them as dog poo is very bad for our livestock. Dogs who require lots of exercise will gain much from the large amount of space available to be walked. Those who need off lead exercise can go to Fishpools Forestry which is opposite. However please be aware that access is via a windy country road with no pavement. We DO NOT permit dogs to be exercised off lead on our site.

Can I bring horses? Yes, we cater for horses - £20 per horse per night.

Is Coco’s suitable for children? Very much so. Children can meet Coco the Donkey, Molly the Mule, Princess Betty the donkey, see horses, sheep, goats, rabbits, an array of birds, play in the children’s play area and go wild flying kites (available from the shop) running up and rolling down our many hills, playing ball games and exploring the beautiful countryside. Not to mention toasting marshmallows on a camp fire!

Is Coco’s suitable for people with mobility issues? Yes as you can park next to your camp. Although our toilets are not wheelchair suitable and might not be easily accessed depending on your needs.

Can I bring my own wood? Yes you can bring your own wood but our firepits are reserved for our firewood customers.

Can we play music? Yes but respect the area and other campers. Not everyone may have the same taste in music as you. Be considerate with your volume by keeping it low. All music must be off by 10:30pm. No exceptions!

Can we use flag pole lights or laser lights? No - we don’t allow any of this kind of lighting.

Can I fly my drone at Coco’s? - We have seen some amazing footage taken by Coco’s Campers, however the noise of drones can be irritating to some, the can be regarded as an invasion of privacy and they can also disturb dogs and our livestock. We therefore ask that you request our special permission to fly a drone on our land, request you abide to the drone flying regulations, we will limit flying time to 20 minutes and ask that you respect everyone’s right to privacy. Coco’s takes no responsibility for any damage or injury caused by flying a drone and you will be personally responsible and liable for any damage or injury caused.

Is there somewhere to wild swim at Coco’s? We do have a wild pool which is in the field by the shop on the left as you arrive. Swimming in the Wild Pool is at your own risk. Children must wear buoyancy aids and be accompanied and monitored by an adult at all times.

Can I leave my rubbish and recycling at Coco’s at the end of my stay? No we don't accept any rubbish - please leave without trace.

Is there anywhere to sling a hammock? We do have hammock frames for hire which we will erect for you. £15 a stay (covers 1 weeks hire max).

Is there shade at Coco’s from trees etc? No. Coco’s is a very open site and if shade is important to you then you will need to bring an awning or adequate protection with you - however - because we are exposed here you may find your awnings might not withstand all eventualities!!!

Can I bring a hot tub and get access to water to fill it? No, Wynn… no you absolutely can’t. This is Wild Camping not Glamping. : )

I’m looking for somewhere to have a large gathering, is Coco’s the right place?
We will accept larger groups but all of our campers are important to us so the rules are still the same including no music after 11pm and consideration of other campers and our neighbours at all times.

I’m looking for peace and quiet. Is Coco’s the right place? Yes

I understand you have different ‘levels’ - what does this mean? We actually have 5 different fields at different levels of our site...Level 2 is our most popular

What’s the night sky visibility like at Coco’s? Amazing and you can see all the stars.

Can you see sunrises at Coco’s? Yes

Can you see sunsets at Coco’s? Yes

Do you have any special annual events at Coco’s? We will post any events in our Facebook group and on our Instagram page.

Coco’s is a working farm. Can you tell me more about that? Coco’s is a 400 acre sheep and beef farm which has been run by our family for four Generations.

Do you have animals we can meet? Yes - donkey’s, a mule, horses, sheep, lambs and goats.

Can you stay at Coco’s in return for helping on the farm? What help do you need? How do I apply?
Yes we are always interested in help especially at lambing time ...(March /

ABOUT LOCAL AREA

Is there a local pub? The nearest pub is 5 miles away in Penybont

Is there a local shop? Co-op in Crossgates is 7 miles away. See info above about our own Coco’s shop. Aldi & Tesco are 20 mins away.

Are there local walks? Yes lots but be aware that pedestrian access outside of Coco’s is very rural on country lanes and there are no pavements. The site is on several footpaths. Next door is the Fishpools Trail - great to let your dog run free as is Radnor Forest which is opposite us.

Can I go fishing nearby? Yes there is Carp Fishing at Pen-y-clawd Fishing Pool which is next door or you can fish in Llandrindod Lake which is 10 miles away.

Where is the nearest town? Llandrindod Wells or Knighton both 10 miles away.

What things are there to do and see locally? We highly recommend a trip to the stunning Elan Valley to see the Reservoirs and Dams.

The Small Breeds Farm Park & Owl Centre is 25 mins away. Kingswood, Kington, Herefordshire, HR5 3HF http://www.owlcentre.com

Radnor Forest (also known as Fish Pools - but don’t be fooled - no fishing there) is just next door.

Is there somewhere local to kayak or paddle board? Yes - Lakeside Boathouse is just £10 a day and they can provide instruction, will check your equipment and rent you equipment too. They have a super cafe they overlooks the lake too. Ice cream. Bikes to hire. Kids play area. Lots to offer for a fantastic day out.

Are there other local towns to explore? Rhyador, Kington has a lot to offer and Clun has a castle. Both 30 mins away.

Where are the nearest beaches? Borth (top end is nice and sandy - go North through the village) and Ynylsals for a really sandy beach with dunes and a nature reserve.
